Questions / Explanations
Clear up the tricky bits
A good question often reveals the assumption a puzzle forgot to state. Here are the questions worth keeping close.
Can a visual sequence have more than one correct continuation?
Yes. A finite sequence can fit multiple rules. We state assumptions where they are needed and distinguish a plausible intended continuation from a unique mathematical conclusion.
How can I tell a rotation from a reflection?
Track an asymmetric anchor and the order of neighboring features. A rotation preserves that order around the boundary; a reflection reverses it. Symmetric shapes may not distinguish the two.
What should I do when I cannot see any rule?
Inventory count, position, orientation, fill and size. Separate the changing features, inspect alternate frames and test one precise hypothesis at a time.
Are these puzzles timed or scored?
No. These pages do not run a countdown or calculate an ability score. You can revisit a diagram and open its explanation at your own pace.
Will practice raise my IQ?
We make no such claim. Practice can build familiarity with the specific tasks you attempt, but these educational examples do not establish broader cognitive improvement or measure IQ.
May I sketch, count aloud or use physical pieces?
Yes, for these informal exercises. State your prediction first, then use notes or a model to check it. Rules for an external examination may be different.
Can I use the diagrams without relying on color?
Our teaching examples pair visual structure with text equivalents and do not require distinguishing colors alone. Inline diagrams also include accessible names and descriptions.
If a description does not communicate a relationship clearly enough, please tell us which diagram needs improvement.
What if I find an alternative answer or an error?
Send the page address, the relevant frame or paragraph, and your reasoning to [email protected]. State any assumptions that differ from the explanation.
Does the contact composer send my message?
No. It prepares plain text locally. You can copy or download the draft, then send it yourself through your email application.
